I found this to be a really slow burn....really slow. The action was limited to the last 30 pages or so. Not what I have come to expect from a zombie tale.
This is a relatively short novel that is more social commentary than zombie story. I did enjoy the world that was created...a changed world where neither zombies or humans will remain unchanged. I just wish the lead up had been a little faster paced and that we'd spent more time "exploring" the new world that has evolved.
As there are more books in the series, I can't help but wonder if a larger work has been broken up into smaller offerings rather than utilizing a good editor to tighten up the pacing and shorten the overall work.
