4 out of 5 stars

A wild ride down memory lane to the 1980's and what I consider to be the golden age of trashy, creature feature horror! And what an excellent ride it was.

I had so much fun with this one. Is the plot believable ...hell no.... but that's what made it so entertaining. It takes a bit of imagination to consider giant man eating slugs to be a threat to humanity. Now, I admit, I am no fan of slugs. As secretors of slime and destroyers of gardens they are masters but horror inducing??? Yet here we are reading, or in my case listening to, exactly that...and loving every minute of it.

The characters are moderately developed. And some are introduced seemingly to be offed by the next chapter. There was some fun ( and often funny) dialogue and the descriptions of the "slug attacks" left me grinning like a little kid. This is exactly the type horror novel that I read in the 80's and left me hooked for life.
